Bio:

Robin & The Woods is a progressive jazz-rock quintet from Bordeaux, France, with Robin Jolivet on the guitar, Jérôme Masco on the saxophone, Alexandre Aguilera on the flute, Alexis Cadeillan on the bass and Nicolas Girardi on the drum. Five pretty well-known musicians of the regional jazz scene. The group explores a dreamlike world with a direct influence of 70s progressive rock (King Crimson, Mike Oldfield, Pink Floyd, Gentle Giant) and modern jazz (EST, Donny McCaslin, Pat Metheny, Kneebody).
Robin & the Woods music sways between a rich, dense writing style and some lighter sections with a lot of improvisation. A musical signature which led the group to win the ‘FIP Radio’ Award and the Action Jazz ‘Grand Prix’ in 2018. Through their repertoire of original pieces written by Robin Jolivet and Jérôme Masco, Robin & the Woods offers a sensitive and fanciful experience.

The first LP album of the group has been released this month and is called 'Moonfall'.
A cosmic ballet of nine original pieces, a universe where doubts and questionings about the actual world are floating around: climate change and the shadow of neoliberalism, weighing on bodies and souls.
