I wasn't able to get tickets yet but it put me in the mood to do a poll and so I thought of this one. I think they had some good ones. You can vote for your top three(but please no more than that otherwise the poll becomes pointless). Studio albums only.

The Fox on the Rocks, by a country mile.
Nursery Crime a distant second place. Both of those covers are far greater than any other in the discography. |

I like the picture on the first live album very much. When I first saw it (I had already heard "Foxtrot" and "Nursery Cryme") I immediately associated the front cover picture with the "Apocalypse in 9/8" section of "Supper's Ready" and the photo with the bat wings on the back cover with "Watcher of the Skies", though I had never seen them live.

I considered two of them - Nursery Cryme and Foxtrot. My nod goes to... Foxtrot in the end.

SEBTP is the best followed very closely by TOTT and W&W.
something so strange about W&W that I love and only album cover I would put on a wall as art.

Duke is artisticaly most interesting IMO, both absurdist and strange with nice collour pallet.
Though they have many intreguing ones, spessialy Wind And Wuthering is very mysterious and romantical, the whimsical Nursery Chryme, the trio from that until Selling England is very Lewis Caroll esque, surreallisme and the Lamb have more of a structural and symbolisme heavy. But Duke have that elegant minimalisme yet strong symbolisme and figurativ. |

I wonder how a Roger Dean would be ontu a Genesis album. One will never know thay and its good with a variaty of artists. Genesis had one Hipignosis artworkwith tLLdoB which is cool albait not as spectacular as the album

I like the Duke album cover the best. My second choice would be Nursery Cryme, followed by Trick of the Tail.

Went with W+W.
Close calls would have been Selling England and Trick. Have to confess that as much I love Nursery and Foxtrot as albums, I don't think the covers are very good. On a partially related note, several years ago I walked into a small gallery that had an exhibition of 'bad album covers'. Most of them were truly atrocious, but, shockingly, they also included Foxtrot and . . . In the Court of the Crimson King. |

I always felt that the music of SEBTP, ATOTT and W&W fit the album covers very well so those are my picks. They are also my favorite albums by the band. The Paul Whitehead album covers are good too but not quite as good as those. The Lamb is just a weird album cover but I suppose it fits the album pretty well too considering the music on it. I think when their music started to change, starting with ATTWT, so did the quality of the album covers although Duke and shapes aren't bad.
