Invalids is an American math rock band that was founded in 2009. Their music combines a characteristic pop punk/indie rock sound with complicated, oft-changing rhythms and song structures and virtuosic, tap-heavy guitar lines, and can be compared to This Town Needs Guns, American Football and You Slut! (except more complex) or Tera Melos (except not as heavy). For the first six years of its existence, Invalids was a solo project of guitarist and singer Pete Davis from Princeton, New Jersey (usually joined by bass guitarist Nick Shaw), but as of 2015 it has become a full-fledged band featuring Davis on guitar and lead vocals, Brock Benzel on guitar, Raymond Bonanno on bass guitar and Joe Scala on drums and percussion.
