These particular songs just get me amped up, every time I listen to Dio I always think "god damn, I gotta find the nearest dragon and slay it!" Or maybe storm a dungeon? Pillage a small harbour? I don't know, but I need your help picking the soundtrack to whatever medieval scheme i'm up to! Feel free to rank these, cause I can't!

This is hard. All are excellent pieces, and it's not easy to pick one over the other. I'll have to think hard before I can vote.

When it comes to fighting dragons I'm with brave Sir Robin:
Sir Robin's minstrels for prog folk...?

If you are fighting a dragon, it's always handy to have an ogre with you....

I would think some progressive power metal would fit this bill and what more appropriate band than RHAPSODY (OF FIRE) "Dragonland's Rivers" would do nicely from this album |

First vote for Kansas.
Also, it would have to be a pretty old dragon for "Orion" to work...

Wish I could properly vote, but I’m rooting for Mirage and Alucard in spirit! All awesome picks.

I voted for Alucard, btw - an awesome and under-known track. But when I really wanna feel amped, it's not generally prog I go for.
That'll do it, if PLAYED LOUD.

None of the ones listed would give me any real comfort in a battle for my life with a dragon. However... |

I don't know Rivers of Babilon, but since Stargazer would be so great for such a thing, I guess Rivers of Babilon should do the trick just as well. Also, some Rhapsody too. Or Kashmir... though that song makes think of Godzilla more than of a dragon.

I only know two of these songs but I have a feeling, even having heard the others, I'd probably still vote for A National Acrobat. Near my favorite Sabbath song.

Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

Good choice. Even the mightiest of dragons would tremble in fear at an approaching horseman blasting GG Allin. Anyway, none of these would provide the required sonic boost for me. This would probably do it. Its funny A National Acrobat gets mentioned. When I was 11-14 and playing Dungeons and Dragons I would design campaign maps and fill them with monsters. Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath was always on the inspirational playlist. Edited by Tapfret - August 12 2021 at 01:35 |
