I love ABBA's new song too, and it's lovely to see they haven't aged at all, despite it being 40 years now since they broke up.

Shangri La by ELO is a beautifull song. Todd know how to touch your feelings. And I'm sure someone already mentioned it but Epitaph by KC is one of the most emotional song that were ever written. Edited by yogev - September 12 2021 at 05:42 |

^An all time favourite of mine too. Their albums 'The Doors' (1967), and 'L.A. Woman' (1971) are sublime all time classics, I find the stuff in between a bit of a mixed bag to be honest.

^ The End is another favourite of mine, along with Riders on the Storm...
If all of the great songs posted on this thread were put together into one multi-disc compilation album, then it'd be the best album in the world!

Possibly the most downbeat song ever in my opinion. The End - The Doors |

-I didn't notice that they had to be sad in similar to ways to Whiter Shade of Pale and Nights in White Satin... but although they may not sound similar - I posted some stunning songs. ...ever heard this early Strawbs-tune? Epic sadness and melodramatic melancholy |

Arguably, there've been more great songs posted here than than any other thread on ProgArchives, so it appears I do like sad songs after all.
Guess there are times when we all need to share a little pain And ironing out the rough spots Is the hardest part when memories remain And it's times like these when we all need to hear the radio 'Cause from the lips of some old singer We can share the troubles we already know - Bernie Taupin
