Just a quick introduction, I can't say I always listened to prog music or really knew what it was, and still am figuring it out  but as far as I know prog to me is anything that is less mainstream and more progressive in it's use of musical instruments and having long passages or just kind of ... well ... proggy! I guess my first real introduction to prog would have been Spock's Beard, although they themselves are greatly influenced by prog pioneers (I don't think I need to mention any names *cough GENESIS cough*)...Now I've simply gone prog crazy and find it hard to listen to a standard radio friendly song using a formulaic repetitive chorus. I love the intertwining threads of prog and how the music seems to evolve...tasty! Always twitching for new sounds, ideas, themes these ears of mine!

So, I'm glad to have discovered Prog Archives, needless to say I'd actually been viewing it for awhile before I actually joined the forum, and I originally intended only to be able to add discographical entries, but thought hey, while I'm here, why not participate? Always interesting to hear what fellow proggers have to say, especially since I know practically none in real life...

So a big hello and look forward to posting some more!
