Just found out about this—absolutely devastated at the moment. He was an incredible vocalist, flautist, and all around a wonderful person. Absolutely one of the greatest modern prog musicians—it's hard to believe he's gone.
I use they/them pronouns (feel free to ask me about this!)

Check out my music on my bandcamp!

Jesus, what a terrible year... as if the last days with the passing of Graeme Edge and John Goodsall hadn't been enough... David's death is a real shock, it really caught me off-guard

I am completely devastated.  I was looking forward to years of wonderful music from David.
We have so little time on this earth.

Just heard the news from the Lifesigns crew! I'm devasted! Such a talent! And so young! Dave will be sorely missed. So glad we have so much of his music as a legacy.

24 hours after hearing of the passing of David and I'm still in shock and very despondent. And I've never even met the man. I think that we all expect our heroes to pass on eventually, but when someone dies in what I consider to still be in the prime of their life is simply intolerable. I have a deep sadness today as if I've lost a close friend. I suppose that's the mark that our idols leave on their fans, which is so much more than just the momentary pleasure of listening to their music. RIP David and safe home.

Received the news on my Twitter feed yesterday. I'm just devastated. He was at the height of his powers as a musician and if anything was getting better. 56 is far too young to pass on from this world.
