Crises its a clssic for me. Tracks like Taurus 3 or In High Places featuring Jon Andeson... Love that album.

Crises is great, Five Miles Out is fine, and I do like the Killing Fields soundtrack (I'd probably rank it second ahead of FMO out of these). Don't care much for the others.

I quite like the album run Five Miles Out, Crises, Discovery. QE2 to a lesser extent and the rest is rather forgettable to me (as most of his other work). Of the three first mentioned I probably prefer Five Miles Out...

Five Miles Out and Crises are great. Nothing he's made after that has really managed to captivate me.

Not even Tubular Bells II & III, or Return to Ommadawn, or Songs of Distant Earth, or even Music of the Spheres, to name just a few?

If you want to listen to 43 minutes of rare and unreleased tracks, I recommend you "work in progress" on youtube :

I like this period better than his 70s stuff.

Must give a vote to Discovery . My favourite MO song is To France (about Mary Queen Of Scots), for me it's totally magical and Maggie Reilly's finest moment.
As regards Crises , I think Mike Oldfield owes a large debt to Simon Phillips who is magnificent on the side long piece and also does a lot of heavy lifting on the production side. It was virtually a collaborative effort between the two of them.
