   Point Mass is a progressive metal band from Toronto, Canada that put out their debut concept album Solstice just as 2021 came to a close. As they summarize it: "Solstice is a concept album about an alien tree taking root on Earth, the disaster it brings, and how mankind copes with the sudden upheaval of life as they know it. Focused on themes of environmentalism, corruption, and good old fashioned nihilism."
Their style often incorporates complex rhythms and time signatures, and ranges from a softer anticipation building opening track to an epic heavy 11 minute long closing track. Influences for the band range from Gojira, Haken, Tool, Protest the Hero, Dream Theater and Opeth to Rush and Pink Floyd.
