For real? No album? Are you familiar with all of them? That's weird TBH...

You are beyond my patience!

Well you've just told me you dislike 25 albums from my poll. And yet you get mad at me.
Good one... Ouch

Gentlemen.... I've only heard 3 myself! I'm not sure whether David is saying that he doesn't know these albums or has heard and doesn't like any... either way, there is ample opportunity for both of us to extend our 1978 knowledge and musical palettes in the near future...  Cool

He clearly said and i quote " I don't like any album from this poll." But I think it's me he does not like and needs to attack or something.
Whatever...

Gotta go with UK, but Tangerine Dream is a close second, and Kraftwerk third.

I think it was a good year, I like a lot of albums from 1978, hence the poll title.

Comparatively to 77 & 79 and the ones prior to it as well, 78 is relatively poor (IMHO), but if course, 78 is better than any year of the 80's, 90's, 00's & 10's.

My record collection tells me 1980 and 1981 are two of my favorite years in music. A little slim om quality jazz and "regular prog" perhaps, but hundreds of wonderful albums in all styles and genres.

I'd tell you that until 83/4, there 's still a bunch of good albums out (if you care to look in RIO/Avant), but every new year less so than the preceding one. That's all music forms considered together (even 80's jazz is poor).
From 85 until 90, I wouldn't be able to give you more than 5.

I was already trying to do that believe it or not, but you seem to like to provoke me. (And not only me from what I've seen)

We don't seem to disagree on much and I care to look in RIO/Avant (and outside of the anglosphere + all the great music with little or no relation to prog) - exept that I don't see or hear any decline in the quality of music 78-79/80-81. Both Jazz and Prog Rock was in better shape in 1972 but not so much in 1978 or 1979.

Right, about half of them, and I'm sorry to say, I'm not much for PopcoRn. Smile

Yes, but your opinion is wrong again. Tongue The 10's had some of the best music ever, and 2019 was the zenith of prog releases.

If somebody's looking for a kind of objective (intersubjective) answer, I'll recommend to look at my top 160 all-time based on all the ratings on RYM and PA. Big smile
