Only 38 and 30 votes were cast, respectively, in Paul and my 2014 polls from a month ago. While there was one runaway winner (in fact, the most clearcut winner--receiving the most votes in any of our 134 polls, so far---that we've ever seen in these polls), only six albums received the requisite minimum number of votes to qualify for this "final" poll--so I took the liberty of adding a few near misses that I know are popular among the tribe. Have at it! Help name The Most Favored Album of 2014!

Swans' To Be Kind over Bent Knee's Shiny-Eyed Babies, Seven Impale's City of the Sun and Mono's The Last Dawn. I don't think I'm being too kind to Swans to call it a great album -- I love how the Swans slowly builds up the music, the crescendos, the tension, the groove, and the contrasts. Swans is one of my very favourite bands in PA, and this is one of my favourite Swans albums.

Two amazing albums: Road of Bones and Cocoon.
I love Cocoon, but I can't vote against IQ's last masterpiece (I hope there may hopefully be another coming, but Resistance wasn't it).
