Second poll on American singer-songwriters.

This poll asks you to:

1) Indicate your favourite songwriters (maximum 5 preferences)

2) Write their names

3) Write at least one album you love for each of them

4) If you want, explain what you like about them that differentiates them from others. Any discussion is welcome

(I chose only American white and male singer-songwriters born since the 1940s. I have chosen those who have not had planetary success, and who are often cult authors. Obviously the criterion is arbitrary. I wrote them down according to date of birth).

Enjoy!

Well, you say always the same authors: CSN&Y.

But the poll is made to say not just one favourite, but your favourites.

Beyond these four musicians dont you like anyone else?

From this list, for me, Phil Ochs far outshines everyone, although I do also love Stephen Stills.  His lyrical prowess, rapier wit, and cutting social commentary are unmatched.  I own his discography.

To be honest, I'm familiar with most of the names in your poll, but I'm unfamiliar with their music, although I do Love Leon & Mary Russell's soulful "Make Love Music" album. Heart Embarrassed

The honor and praise Leon Russell recievd from Elton John, alomgside their collaborated album. Was very nice to be witnessing to, otherwise Leon might be more obscure. That is Eltons finest achievment.
