Well this finally had to happen - how do you pick a top 7 by the most consistent band there is?!!🥴

At least step 1 is easy - discard Resistance….
Step 2 - discard Seven Stories….

Step 3 - erm……
Heaven is waiting but waiting is Hell

^ IQ's first and second albums are well-worth a listen. It's their third and fourth albums without frontman Peter Nicholls that you may want to avoid. Wink

At least you can still vote in my Top 7 polls. Wink

Right.  The PA management allows me to type answers to other folk's threads.  I'm not allowed to click a vote in a poll or create my own thread.  Not allowed to suggest new bands.

I did not list IQ's first two albums, because I have not listened to them. It's on my bucket list.

Are You Sitting Comfortably? Then I'll begin with some Tales from the Lush AtticIQ were first in the queue when it came to choosing a band for my first Neo Prog marathon. Until recently, Neo Prog was as much of a mystery to me as the mysterious Dark Matter which is thought to account for approximately 85% of  the matter in the known universe. In The Wake of listening to all of IQ's (mostly) superb albums recently, they gradually broke down my Resistance to Neo Prog. Many modern prog bands have sunk without trace in the deep blue  Subterranea, or fallen by the wayside on The Road of Bones, but IQ have gone from strength to strength with the release of possibly their best album Ever in 2019: Resistance!  I soon realised IQ are a whole lot better than Marillion (with the exception of the inferior Nomzamo album) and that they're quite possibly one of the greatest Neo Prog bands Ever! I'll be listening to IQ's albums with increasing Frequency from now on.  Smile

Finally, a chance to choose your Top 7 IQ albums. Simply list your IQ albums in order of preference below and then I'll assign the usual system of points to your listings:-

1st album - 12 points
2nd album - 8 points
3rd album - 6 points
4th album - 4 points
5th album - 3 points
6th album - 2 points
7th album - 1 point

Here's my Top 7 to get the poll underway:-

1. Resistance (12 points)
2. The Seventh House (8 points)
3. The Road of Bones (6 points)
4. Subterranea (4 Points)
5. Ever (3 points)
6. Dark Matter (2 points)
7. Frequency (1 point)
