John Wetton with After Crying, Struggle for Life
“I don’t like country music, but I don’t mean to denigrate those who do. And for those who like country music, denigrate means to ‘put down.'” – Bob Newhart

From the top of my head: Randy California (from Spirit) on guitar for Peter Hammill's Red Shift. A perfect match! (the remaster is from 2006, but the track is from 1974)

Jon Anderson is the only reason I still listen to King Crimson's Lizard album, and here he is again making a guest appearance on Tangerine Dream's Legend soundtrack.

Artists used to make guest appearances on each other's albums throughout the 1970s!

What are your favorites?  I'll start with Jon Anderson's vocals on "Prince Rupert Awakes," King Crimson "Lizard!"
