U2 is the only one of these I've listened to. No longer own the album after I sold my vinyl back in the 1990s. My peers often gloss over the section of my curriculum vitae in which I spent 15 years pretending to be the planet Neptune. The hardest part was trying to recreate the atmospheric storms using beans, paint cans, and calculators that only know how to subtract.

^ I doubt if the contributors to the 1001 Albums book have even heard of Roger Waters' Radio KAOS album. Tongue

There's barely any prog albums in the book at all. Ouch

Really? For me, U2's Joshua Tree is the only album worth voting for in this poor line-up of albums. Smile

The only 87 album I'd vote from this list  >> my choice (furthered by the fact that I like Rattle & Achtung as well)

If I'm glad that neither KAOS or Lapse of Reason are not mentioned in this 1001 list, I'm glad KAOS is better placed in 87's top RYM list than Lapse (708 over 930, I think)

I don't know what is the criteria for the albums in these lists (popularity is one of them i think), but I am not at all surprised neither Waters or Pink Floyd are in the list.

Wasn't Whitesnake's 1987 album one of the most popular albums of 1987. I dare say deservingly so. Big smile

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

You know that Astor Piazzolla album? I'd have thought this would appeal to you.
No I haven't heard that one, Shaka Zulu or Calenture. So I shouldn't have written everything else. Guess I should check it out then.

Astor Piazzolla (I'm surprised this is there as it isn't even his best, but great enough) > Laibach, Sonic Youth

I know Michael Jackson's album is Bad, but I've heard Weird Al Yankovic's album is Even Worse.
