Halloween is a little over a week away as I create this poll so I thought that I would come up with something Spooky.  A much shorter poll than my usual theme polls.

Since there are only five songs, it would be silly to have you vote for your three favorites, so pick your favorite, but tell us what it is and if you like any of the other songs.

The GG song is the only one I'm familiar with so I'll have to listen to the others.

Mahogany Frog. New and very pleasant acquaintance to me. Will have to check them out properly.

Gentle Giant video was fun. Does anyone recognize all the film bits in it? Quite a few were from Carnival of Souls and many others seemed familiar as well.

The Halloween Song for me is Type O Negative - Black No.1.

The entire Tales Of Mistery And Imagination of Alan Parsons counts as spooky, I figure.

Hi,

A few odd balls ...

Classics 4 - Spooky - Famous Hit
Boris Pickett - Famous Hit
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - from Gorilla
Plus  - Seven Deadly Sins
Strawbs - Dreams (from Ghosts)
Brainticket - Cottonwood Hill
Pink Floyd - Be Careful With That Axe, Eugene

The best sound effects were Guy Guden's on his Halloween Shows with a famous kiddies album played at various speeds ... that cat is something else! Those witch screams ... wow!

... and the song of the season is:

Brian Auger and Julie Driscoll - Season of the Witch
Masked Marauders - Season of the Witch
Joan Jett - Season of the Witch
Mike Bloomfield/Al Kooper/Stephen Stills - Season of the Witch
Donovan - Season of the Witch (original!)
Vanilla Fudge - Season of the Witch
Richard Thompson - Season of the Witch

Surprised no one has mentioned Pulsar's 'Halloween' album, one song, a pt 1 and a pt 2

Hi,

I missed it, but I really think the title is the only thing in it that is Halloween related.

Same for the band MESSAGE, and their album "From Books and Dreams".

I was trying to find some Italian stuff, but the best I could come up with was PFM's "Is my Face On Straight", but I am not sure that it is more of a satire, than it would be a Halloween party!

There are a lot of things written about Faust as well.

I, intentionally, left GOBLIN behind, even though I have about 7 or 8 of their albums ... all soundtracks, and I still think that it is some nice stuff, but so little of it was used properly in so many films.

Some Hollywood stuff fits nicely ... "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" had fantastic music in it, but I ended up hogtied trying to mention some of those things.

The Stalker ... with Artemyev electronic stuff ... is downright spooky!

Of these Mahogany Frog, Gentle Giant and Far Corner are the most interesting to my ears. GG is nice and fun, but pales a bit next to these wonderful tracks by the other two. Never heard of Mahogany Frog before and this will definitely incite me to explore more of this band, but my vote goes to Far Corner's Do You Think I'm Spooky?
