Of course, the genre has a tonne of amazing S.F.-inspired tracks, but I hope you like the ones I chose.

"Fohat Digs Holes in Space"

"Fohat Digs Holes in Space" is the predecessor of Gong's later space-rock trips. The Radio Gnome concept was already introduced on "Camembert Electrique" in some of its tracks and sleeve design as well. A beautiful early Gong and fascinating imagination of one of the most interesting artists in progressive music, Daevid Allen. What else to say?

"Starship Trooper"

Among my favourite Yessongs, "Starship Trooper" from "The Yes Album" explores themes of spirituality, the natural world, and the pursuit of meaning. It discusses ideas including the relationship between humans and the environment, the search for wisdom and enlightenment, and the existence of God or a higher power. The song's lyrics express respect for life and the natural world, encouraging listeners to appreciate life's mysteries while issuing a word of caution against sharing all of one's knowledge. Deeper philosophical problems are suggested to be considered by the mystical and reflective mood created by the song's references to celestial beings like starship troopers and bluebirds.

 "Watcher of the Skies"

The New Wave of science fiction and space exploration elements found in the song "Watcher of the Skies" provide inspiration. The figure in the song, named the Watcher, is depicted as a mythical being that observes humankind from a distance. Tony Banks' superb mellotron playing and Gabriel's powerful vocal delivery enhance the lyrics, which are heavily inspired by space and alienation. We should thank Steve Hackett for suggesting that Banks construct an opener with a 'tron score that evokes an eerie, otherworldly vibe.

"Karn Evil 9 3rd Impression"

ELP's 30-minute science fiction track "Karn Evil 9" from the "Brain Salad Sugery" album expands the meaning of epic. In this futuristic epic song, humans and artificial intelligence engage in combat. For this poll, I chose "3rd Impression" because of its weird synthesiser effects and robot voices, and Carl Palmer is a sight to behold throughout. Well, for aficionados of science fiction and symphonic rock, it may be an obvious choice.

"Black Noise"

I have always cherished FM's "Black Noise" album from 1978 and have it in my collection, but I forget about it far too frequently. Its title track is filled with sci-fi lyrics and outer spacey sounds. Sadly, FM, a legendary Canadian progressive act, is not particularly well-known outside of their native country.

"Solaris"

The name of the Hungarian band Solaris, the title of their debut album, and the title track were inspired by Stanislaw Lem's novel "Solaris." Róbert Erdész, the band's keyboardist, was the primary composer and was constantly involved in the development of their symphonic rock instrumentals. Consider his soaring synthesisers, which truly embody their distinct and authentic approach to being widely recognised as sci-fi-oriented stuff.

"Flight of the Moorglade"

The concept album "Olias of Sunhillow" by Jon Anderson narrates the tale of four extraterrestrial tribes and their flight to a new world as a volcano explosion threatens their home planet. Magicians Ranyart and Qoquaq assist wizard Olias, who constructs a spacecraft called the Moorglade Mover to collect and transport the populace to their new residence.

"Sonic Attack"

Michael Moorcock, an English-American author who specialised in science fiction and fantasy, worked closely with Hawkwind on several occasions. He wrote the lyrics to "Sonic Attack," a science fiction parody of the public service announcement that was included in Hawkwind's "Space Ritual" album, among many other contributions.

"Ring 3: Luxury"

The concept album "Antimai" by American band The Dear Hunter is set in a dystopian future society, with each song concentrating on a different socioeconomic class. The lowest class is at the beginning, and the ruler is at the conclusion. "Ring 3: Luxury" is one of the album's songs, flirting with insanity while a wild rhythm with diversity approaches a sympho-rock opera-like segment.

BTW I think the song Machine Messiah by Yes has a bit of a Sci-Fi vibe.
I'll vote later.

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Solaris. It smells like somebody dumped a cosmology all over the floor.

Black Noise
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
