I don't know why this pisses me off so much (but it has to be like the fifth time I react on it), but it's Gong: You - which is my favorite space-whatever album of all time, and the one I voted for.

Look:

Aarrghh!... I know you already know this, so do you keep insisting on writing it wrong? It's an insult to what was an amazing group of players in an actual band. Jacqui McShee 's Pentangle, Jeff Lynne's ELO etc... is for cash-in tours, when you're not allowed to tour as the actual band. Because it's not the actual band touring, and you don't have the rights. While the Gong who made the Flying Teapot-trilogy, is as Gong as Gong gets.

With that out of the way... so much to love here, I have make a list of nine additional favorites:

Sensations' Fix - Portable Madness
The Cosmic Jokers - The Cosmic Jokers
Hawkwind - Hall of the Mountain Grill
Yatha Sidhra - A Meditation Mas
Jade Warrior - Floating World
Kraan - Andy Nogger
Sensations' Fix - Fragments of Light
Code III - Planet of Man
Brainticket - Celestial Ocean

Voted for Eloy's Floating. Nice album. Gong would be my second choice.

Judith Chalmers & Frank Bough* hint at who's going to win the next Space Rock poll.

*Frank Bough should have starred in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, given his predilection for wearing stockings & suspenders.

It might seem funny. But, come to think of it, he was one of the pioneers of gender non-conformity in mass media.

Let's do the time warp again! Jeremy Vine and Michael Buerk as you've never seen them before.

Interesting one this. I like Eloy, Gong, Saga, with Kraan & Agitation Free a bit behind. Will vote for Saga as they don't have any vote yet. I'm a big ADII fan but not so keen on these albums.

I agree, an interesting list where my vote could go in a lot of different places. Same thoughts on the ADII records although I have a soft spot for that greatest hits record Lemmingmania record. But I have a soft spot for many albums on here.
I voted for The Comic Jokers finally but those Kraan, Agitation Free, Yatha Sidhra and Hawkwind albums are amazing.

Likewise!

I saw Gong in Chicago, March 10, 1996 and the band had all of the great ones = Daevid Allen, Bloomdidio, Mike Howlett etc.

On guitar and synth was one Steffe Sharpstrings, and he did a FANTASTIC job on the material from "You!" including High T's synth and Hillage's guitar!! I highly recommend him!
