in terms of creating 'new' music. Not very technical but smart music.

I would say the rest of the nu metal crap that is moving around, such as, Linki'n Park...

Wham was definitely not progressive! Reggae is not progressive either. My sister really likes reggae, but to me all reggae sounds the same.

and all those... in the 50s Most of them only use 3 chords and back to reffrain over and over again. Their music did not progress.
