Many apologies if I put this in the wrong forum:

As posted on ytsejam.com:

A 10-minute audio interview with RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson, conducted late last month by Mike Staff of Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM, has been posted online at this location (Windows Media).

It really worked for me... Good Job, StyLaZyn...

Nice interview, by the way...

It's just great the way he expressed about meeting their idols, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and how they took the place of a fan in that particular case...

It is so refreshing to hear these very famous individuals speak humbly.  Today's youth could take a lesson from this.  I am so over the arrogance of some of the young musicians I speak with.

Actually, from many interviews I've read or listened to, Alex and Geddy have a great charisma that emulates.  They must have trained under Dale Carnigie.

Yeah! They are so humble on their interviews... Lifeson has a very natural way to deal with interviews, and he is always making funny jokes and expressing the way he feels about his fans, and so...

Eventhough they have acquired to much respect for being considered as real musicians over the years, Rush members are good examples for today's young musicians who think of themselves as being "gods".

I just tried it a couple of hours ago and it really worked... You'll have to save the file somewhere on your hard disk or wherever is best for you, then it will allow you to open it and you can listen to it by using Windows Media Player...

It is also nice to hear it straight from Alex that they will be in the studio making a new album early next for release in the summer and a tour to follow!

Question for Rushaholic or anyone who knows,

I am a big fan of the earlier rush say up until Signals. I used to own everything up till A Show of Hands, but never cared as much for that series of music as I did their more progressive stuff. Since a Show of Hands, has Rush done anything even remotely similar to their music before Signals?

As far as I am concern, there are no official live material similar to A Show Of Hands before the album Signals (except for Exit... Stage Left, which was recorded live before Signals came out, but I'm sure you probably own it. This one contains some of their live hits from their earlier albums to Moving Pictures).

There could be many bootlegs from that era, but I haven't purchased any of them except for Mirrors, which is a live bootleg that belongs to the Roll the Bones tour back in 1992. This was recorded in Oakland, California, and sounds very decent...

The address below is from a web site were you can find anything related to your interests, but remember that they are not officially live materials as those live releases from the band.

Hope this one works for you...

Don,

Thanks for that information but I am really asking about the newer studio work. I havent heard anything newer than a Show of Hands, which I know is a live disk but nothing in studio since that group of music.

I guess that would be from Roll the Bones Vapor Trails ect.

Oh! I'm sorry....

Yeah! Their albums (studio/live/compalation) since A Show Of Hands was released are:

Presto (1989)

Chronicles - compilation (1990)

Roll the Bones (1991)

Counterparts (1993)

Test of Echo (1996)

Retrospective I: 1974-1980 - compilation (1997)

Retrospective II: 1981-1987 - compilation (1997)

Different Stages - Live (1998)

Vapor Trails (2002)

The Spirit Of Radio: Greatest Hits 1974-1987 - compilation (2003)

Rush In Rio - Live (2003)

Feedback (2004)

R30: 30th Anniversary World Tour Live (2005)

There is a new one coming out next year, but there are no further news on that one...

Foxman, you can even access the data base from this website and check for reviews on those albums from Rush if it best works for you... Below you'll find the link.

http://www.progarchives.com/Progressive_rock_discography_BAN D.asp?band_id=609

The best thing from the Progarchives is that you'll find anything you might want to know about many progressive bands...

This site has been of great help for me, and for most people here...

Rush hasn't really released anything similar to their earlier music (prior to Signals).  That is, it isn't as "proggy".  However, as Don Quito posted, there is a lot of music that they have released in the last 20 years that is just fantastic.  Read some of the reviews and try some.  Among the best in the last 20 years - you may want to try Counterparts or Roll the Bones.  I also think that Vapor Trails was a great album.

Yes! There is no Rush album similar to Signals... In fact, not even Moving Pictures, which was released one year before Signals, is closer to it.

As you might probably noticed, each Rush album is very different considering all aspects, including sound... So you might have a hard time expecting an album to sound similar to any previous one...

Rush has been evolving from one year to the other, and they have been taking different directions since its first release in 1974.

Just like rushaholic said before, Counterparts, Roll the Bones, and Vapor Trails, are great albums, and you might want to try them.

Anyway, I really enjoy their studio albums from the last decade, which includes Presto and Test For Echo, besides Counterparts and Roll The Bones.

I depends on your taste...

Thanks guys,

I like everything Rush put out, but I interest wained after Signals.
Grace Under Pressure
Power Windows
Hold Your Fire
Presto

These are the last four studio cd's I owned. There were some good stuff on them, but overall it wasnt really my favorite style wise.

Roll The Bones
Counterparts
Test For Echo
Vapo Trails, These 4 I have not heard.

Feedback, Rush in Rio and R30 I own. I will try to demo some of those 4 I havent heard.
