Well, Hello everyone.

I guess I'll start off saying Im only 19 years old! I feel so Young in the presence of Elders.
Im assumeing most of you were born around 50-70s. Unfortunately I wasn't, and almost missed out on some of the greatest Music of the Century.
FORTUNATELY however, I grew up around my father listening to bands such as, The Moodey Blues, Pink Floyd, Blue Oyster Cult, Yes... etc, etc.
Now this was when I was 4 or 5, My parents split up, I then was brought up on the Beatles (my mothers taste)
I grew an addiction to everything Beatles. Up until I was 11, I got into a band called GreenDay. Yeah I know... I was only 11  Until I was introduced to bands such as Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, and Nirvana. While I thought this was a much bigger step in my musical taste library. I quickly grew bored of Grunge/punk and all the sort. I then was introduced to the Wall (my older brother)
I was knocked off my feet. This Album seriously was the start of my musical matureing. It was so good, I actually invested money in the Album (rather then borrowing from friends/family), I purchased my very first Music CD (or CDs) for $24.49 at my Local Meijers supermarket. I listened to the CD day and night, whatever I was doing. I must have listened to the CD 100 times (or more)
I scraped through everything Pink Floyd, listening and LISTENING to every Pink Floyd album I could get my hands on. Then came along this band called RADIOHEAD. I listened to them for about 3 years. (I was bout 14 when I got into them).
Days, months, and years passed, I was 18... BAM! My older brother pops in this band called "Genesis"... ??? Genesis? Never heard of them... "The Lamb Lies down on Broadway"? Hmmm sounds interesting enough.
WOW!!!! This is the sounds I've been missing all these years! I felt as If my life was complete!
I told him to give me All the Genesis Music he had. He gave me a copy of Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, and I enjoyed them EVER so much. Listening to them in my car, whenver I could at my home, in class, at work. I was entranced by the musical engeniusness. I then found out what kind of music they were actually classified under. "Progressive-Rock" I thought huh, this music is so good, I wonder if there are other bands that sounds this amazeing. Good thing the Internet is huh?
Well sure enough, I searched for all these bands that bore the title of "progressive-Rock"
Yes, Gentle Giant, Camel, Electric Light Orchestra, King Crimson, etc.
Ever Since my musical revolution I feel so lucky to have stumbled across such brilliant musical arrangements. I am litteraly stunned every time I listen to Close to the Edge, Nursery Cryme, Rain dances, Acquiring the Taste, Eldorado, In the Wake of Poseidon...etc. they are quite simply, Amazeing.

So I guess im just lettn you guys know! Im glad to have discovered Progressive Rock.
Im currently listening to Octopus right now (advent of penurge)
So if there are any other band suggestions, I would gladly look them up!

Oh yeah, and BTW I remember reading a topic about ELO not on the Prog rock archive?...
How are they not progressive rock? According to 90% of the definitions of what "Prog-Rock" is I think ELO (atleast 2 or 3 of their albums) should without a doubt considered Progressive Rock. I mean, MUSE?! are on there... but ELO is not? How does that add up?
Im not saying Muse is bad, but they are hardly more Progressive then ELO (I am a fan of Muse myself)

Actually I'm already a huge fan of theirs.
I saw them in concert along side Redhot chillie peppers and Queens of the stoneage
They were simply amazeing live.
I was actually a fan of their pre-mars volta stuff (im referring to Cedric and Omar ofcourse)
with their work in At the Drive-in.
Most of their work there was down right obnoxious punk. but later on in their lifespan when Cedric and Omar actually started to really influence the bands sound, their truely good stuff came out, in the Album Vaya, and Relationship of Command.
I still got all those and listen to them sometimes.

Any other suggestions!? Keep them comeing! please

Suggestions?? Sure. Try Caravan. The Canterbury Scene group. Begin with:
1970 - If I Could Do It All Over Again, I'd Do It All Over You
1971 - In The Land Of Grey And Pink

I loved them quickly. I hope you'll like them to

You should definately get Änglagård - Hybris, Sebastian Hardie - Four Moments, Harmonium - Si On Avait Besoin D'une Cinquieme Saison, and (for God's sake) anything by PFM.
