What is everybody's favourite Bond film? They are probably the most consistently entertaining action film series ever made, with more or less all of them (give or take a few) being worthy in some way, and most being outright classics. However, my own personal preference has to be 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'- despite being the only film that featured George Lazenby as Bond, it was by far the best one as a film, with some great and often moving non action moments. There are some of the greatest action scenes ever filmed, plus it also features two Avengers girls in Joanna Lumley and the best, most beautiful Bond girl ever(imo), Diana Rigg. What's more it gave regular characters more to do than a brief cameo. How about everyone else? |

I really like The Spy Who Loved Me. It was definately one of the more believeable Bonds as far as storylines go, but we don't really look for that in Bond movies. The battle in the submarine was one of the coolest epic action scenes. Roger Moore did an excellent job as Bond. It was really interesting to the see Russians and the Brittish so close to each other.

I'm not a big Roger Moore fan, but Live and Let Die was great.

Definitely "Goldfinger" because of Gert Fröbe, the best villain ever.

From Russia with Love, by far the more believable. The best villains are Gert Fröbe (As BF said) and Rosa Klebb (Lotte Lenya) of From Russia with Love, her scene with the knife in the shoe is excellent. I just hate Roger Moore's style, the worst Bond ever, the guy's hair was perfect after fighting 45 minutes with the guy of the metal teeth Iván |

Goldfinger for me. "Do you expect me to talk?" "No Mr Bond, "I expect you to die!". Also, the golf match where Bond says he knows Goldfinger must have cheated, as he has his lost ball in his pocket. And what about the car... Classic stuff. (It will be interesting to compare the results with the Bond title song poll. http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1068 ) Edited by Easy Livin |

I voted for From Russia with Love - even if it doesn't have many gadgets!
There is a strong storyline, it has some great psycho villains (Robert Shaw and Lotte Lenya) and one of the most gorgeous Bond girls ever (Daniela Bianchi). |

"On Her Majesty's Secret Service", for sure. Of all the films, this was by far
the closest to Ian Fleming's vision of James Bond, and George Lazenby's interpretation of the character was outstanding (his inexperience as an actor working in his favour to convey Bond's self-doubt and insecurity, ignored in most of the other films). |

And this film had a great theme song and the beautiful Diana Rigg as Lazemby's partner. However, my vote goes to "Thunderball", dated, kitsch, funny and presenting the beautiful Claudine Auger, my preferred Bond girl. P.S.: both photos were got from publicity sites. I guess that no copyright is applied. Edited by Atkingani |

That's the reason why I voted for this one also, the other pictures have a lot of gadgets and a weak argument, this one is more believable and better argument. Iván |

Yeah I shoulda mentioned the superb soundtrack by John Barry when appraising 'OHMSS'. 'We Have All The Time In The World' is a gorgeous song, and the title track is a terrific Moog heavy piece. Barry did a similar score on the Bruce Lee hack movie 'Game Of Death'- the score was far better than the abysmal film which was completed after Bruce's death (using a cardboard cut out on top of a double's body to sub for Bruce's real head in one shot!!).

Tough one! Almost all the Connery ones are excellent, I'd probably go
for Goldfinger as my favourite, From Russia With Love would win but I
find the ending on the water an anti-climax. On Her Majesty's Secret
Service is very good, I've always thought there was a similarity
between George Lazenby doing that film and Patrick Moraz's one-off
stint with Yes...both panned by critics but held in high regard by the
fans...but then that's my bizzare thought processes working!!
Of Roger Moore's outings, I like "For Your Eyes Only" best; "Goldeneye" for Brosnan I think. Timothy Dalton was good but a bit too reserved..didn't quite have that animal attraction/menace that Connery and Brosnan do/did. Wonder what Daniel Craig will be like - he was excellent in Layer Cake, but I would have liked to see Pierce do one more. Anyhow Pat Moraz beats them all on keyboards! |

From Russia With Love for me, although all the Connery films are great. I also think Pierce Brosnan was a good Bond, especially in Tomorrow Never Dies. OHMSS could have worked a lot better if the director had struck the right balance between tongue in cheek camp and serious action - the closing 20 minutes are among the best in all the Bond films, and I also love Satchmo's theme tune. |
