Too much hiss on tape, they break often and wear out, not to mention magnetic neutralisation if you don't play them for a while

Yeah... CD is the best! But ahhh, so many memories with all those old cassetes when I was young!! |

CD is my answer too although I LOVE TAPES, I can still listen to them in particular, some metallic ones or cromium had excellent sound!!! |

I think the best possible tape system would sound better than any CD, since tapes are analogue (as vinyl). |

Of course it would still have to be a real, existing system for standard cassettes - there are some really expensive ones. |

a)CD does this more efficiently and so requires fewer bits to represent the same information b)there are more particles per second of music on tape than there are bits on a CD c)the other noises on cassettes which don't exist on CD are so much louder than this that they render it inaudible.
