Topic: Your Worst Purchase Posted: February 22 2006 at 11:11 |
What has been the worst album you have bought?
For me it was Marillion-Tales from the engine room with the Positive light. It was so bad that I gave it to a man on the street

I recently bought a folk-psych album by a certain band called Isolation, which was described as being similar to Ithaca (their album 'A Game for all who know' is one of my favourite folk-psych -and a bit prog- records)
This one sounded nothing like Ithaca. It was really terrible. And it wasn't cheap...

That's, ummm, quite the story. You just gave it to him? Weird...
My only real bad album purchase so far, being as I only have 22 albums , would have to be Queen on Fire - Live at the Bowl. Not like it is a bad live album but I just don't compilation albums.
... then again, I didn't buy that album either so... I guess I can't complain.

ELP's Works Vol.1
When it came out I had such high expectations, especially for Keith Emerson's foray into composing a symphony piece of his own, but it fell so flat and boring that I don't think I ever listened to it again and eventually sold it to a used record shop in Redondo Beach! I've probably bought much, much worse music but I don't think I've ever been so disappointed.

GTR - GTR. It only cost me about 2 euros though, so it doesn't really count. The same goes for: Yes - Union. I paid almost nothing for it. Both new, no second hand buys.
Okay, one where I paid a "full price": IQ - Subterranea. I love early IQ, and Ever is still very good, but I can't understand why people like Subterranea so much. I like the story line and the art work, but I think the music is very disappointing .

for me that has to be the first SHADOW GALLERY album, to which i took an extreme dislike as soon as i put it on – there may have been one ore two that i can't think of right now, but this sonic abomination tops the lot... hang on, these just crossed my mind: ASIA-silent nation KANSAS-somewhere to elsewhere both bored me senseless!
