briliant, awesome, amazing, unique but she kinda misses that 'rock' element of progressive rock no? And I think she would probably faint in dismay if she was included

Please start threads in the correct forum...

I will move this to non-prog music lounge

That hasn't stopped PA from including the majority of its bands, has it? Essentially, the Prog Music Lounge is about the applying of a label the meaning of which we can't agree on to bands that don't want it.

All in good fun, though.

Remember the 'good fun' part, anyone?

Bjork is excellent.

Prog pop arguably, but I dont think she belongs here.

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

She's progressive in the true sense of the word. And she made some pretty good songs too!

Human Behaviour, Play Dead, Isobel, Joga and Bachelorette are some of my top favourite songs. And she sang Visur Vatnnsenda Rosu on Hector Zazou's Songs From The Cold Seas, which is one of the best songs I ever heard.

Not so sure about her first three albums (I'm a big fan, but they're not really appropriate for this site) but Vespertine and Medulla are extremely experimental, challenging and, yes, progressive albums. If she continues in this experimental direction maybe she should be considered for inclusion.

BTW I completely agree with Moogtron about her contribution to Songs From The Cold Seas, an excellent album that no home should be without.

She's phenomenal, groundbreaking, and has impeccable taste in supporting musicians/writers. She's not rock, however. If we're going to start including _all_ progressive music, not just rock, I have a looong list of suggestions!

Glad you guys brought up "Songs From The Cold Seas", which I love...

BUT here's a problem:  I've gone out and bought versions of this CD on two different labels, and both have the same issue:  I believe it's track four, with Lene Willemark on vocals and B. J. Cole on pedal steel, etc.; there's several places where the music distorts, nearly ruining one of the best tracks on the album.  Could one of you who have the album check to see if it's a problem on your copy?  You'll need to listen closely to hear it.

I've only heard Medulla, but it's amazing. Also, the Fantomas remix of Where Is The Line is fantastic.

Amazing artist. I love how unique her voice is. Plus the way the music is composed behind her is just excellent electronic.
