I've just recently got into IQ and have been listening to Subterranea a lot the last few days but I don't really know the story for it.  If it's in the liner notes I'm sorry, I left them at home and I won't be back there for a month to check so If you happen to know, please share

I believe it's about someone who was discovered living in a cave, but I could be wrong. I'm sure someone can tell you the full story.

Martin Orford did once provide a synopsis of the concept but even he was a bit vague on some parts! Briefly:

People are locked away in a secret underground government labratory from birth (so they've never seen the outside world). They decide to make a break for it..and succeed. Most of the concept is then about one character and what he makes of the outside world from a naive child like stance. He finds love along the way as well.Eventually the others who broke out are discovered in a barn and end up burning to death as they try escape. The one character gives himself up voluntary as he can't stand living in the real world and so goes back underground to live the rest of his life in the government lab.End!

That's a bit depressing!  Not to mention a bit stupid IMO.
