Hey
I'm trying to get my friend into the world of prog. What's the best album to start him out with?
I mean, I don't think Gentle Giant is a good idea.
I need something accessible. Any suggestions?

There are countless of threads around this forums. I suggest you use the search buttom...
Also, I think it will be very helpful to know what your friend is listening to nowadays..

| You'd be surprised, you know! Yes or Genesis are always good choices, though

go with these 5
Yes - The Yes Album (if they don't like this, improbable as it is, they won't like Yes)
King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King (an essential in any collection.. especially a starter's
Genesis - Selling England by the Pound (guarantee the first song will
grab any potential prog fan... and serve a greater purpose... to
dispell the notion that Genesis were....err.... Genesis hahahha)
Jethro Tull - Aqualung (not their best or greatest prog album... but a
great starter... Thick as a Brick is not recommended for the
uninitiated)
ELP - Brain Salad Surgery (another essential in any rock
collection.. and Toccata and Karn Evil 9 will knock their socks off
hahahha)
