I am just starting to get into Anthony Phiilips. I have loved Genesis for years and years but for some reason I have only recently begun to investigate Anthony Phillips's solo albums.

I bought "The Geese And The Ghost" and "Private Parts And Pieces 1" and I think they are brilliant. I would like to get "Private Parts And Pieces 2 - Back To The Paviliion" next. There is no question that Anthony Phillips is an extremely talented composer and musician.

I am just curious how many of the forum members here consider Anthony Phillips solo material "Prog".

I Adore Mellotrons

Get Slow Dance next. As brilliant as Geese but totally different and keyboard oriented.

The second side of the 'Sides' album features some fantastic symphonic prog that's just the ticket for Genesis fans who don't like anything they did after Steve Hackett left. The first side is more commercial, but 'Lucy Will' is a lovely track that's one of my favourites.

I have a best of his called 'Anthology' and it's one of the best things I bought last year- there was such a variety of styles, all of which were compelling- I particularly like his acoustic instrumentals- so I'd say he was definitely a progressive artist.

I think Slow Dance is very prog, and some of his other material that I've heard is prog too. Though he have many non-prog tracks too. But I think he's prog overall!

Get PPAP 2 - Back To The Pavilion and Slow Dance next
