The April '06 issue of Guitar Player (with Derek Trucks on the cover) features a Peter Hammill article/interview.

I think it was a really good article, on top of that I think he should have been the cover story ahead of Derek Trucks.  The interview gets somewhat in depth about how the whole creative process in Van der Graaf Generator worked.   Great interview, and once again it should have been the cover story.

That's pretty cool, considering Hamill is a little obscure in my book. Though I'm not sure about him being a great guitar player though...even rhythm, he seemed a bit more influential on the piano.

That would be great (Peter certainly has more experience and history than the young DT), but he's just not very well known in the U.S. And that's why it's cool he's even in there in the first place - hopefully a lot of people who aren't hip to him or VdGG will now check them out. I think it's pretty incredible (and encouraging) that pH should get coverage in such a mainstream magazine.

The article is short but has some interesting tidbits in it.  I got an e mail yesterday from the Derek Trucks web site.  He is going to be touring with Eric clapton.  Not the band, him and Eric. should be great.

I've heard some of Trucks' stuff on Dick Heath's Radio Show (http://www.lcr1350.co.uk/) and I really enjoyed it. I'll have to see if Napster has any of his stuff..

...wow,it does-3 albums DTB,Soul Serenade and Joyful Noise. That's my evening's listening sorted!
