My prog dreams,

  • Genesis touring with its original formation performing all complete Trespass, Foxtrot, The Lamb and Selling England in their entirety.
  • Porcupine Tree playing in my backyard
  • Yes stops finding demo tracks and reissuing their discography again and again...my wallet can't stand it anymore!!
  • Rush rerecord all their 70's 80's great albums with another singer, so I can finally listen to them for more than a couple of songs!!
  • A 365 days prog festival in my town
  • My wife becomes a prog adict and stops yelling at me when listening to this "crazy, old and stupid music".

Anyone else have any dreams to share??

I had a very vivid dream once where I was Robert Fripp's valet.  It was my job to accompany him to make his daily rounds of shopping in cool bookstores and drinking really good coffee.  At one of our destinations, a combination bookstore/casual wear outlet, it started to rain in the parking lot.  At this point RF withdrew his guitar case and a small amplifier from the trunk of the car and, handing them to me to carry, said "Remember when I told you you couldn't even carry my guitar?  Well, I lied!!"

My prog dreams:

Genesis reforms to record and tour behind The Lamb part 2
Fish rejoins Marillion to perform Clutching (in my town)
Neal rejoins The Beard and Traansatlantic and performs (in my town)
Gilmour and Waters reconsile and tour.
Hendrix returns from the dead and tours
Moon returns from the dead and The Who tours
Bonham returns from the dead and Zep tours
Coltrane and Miles return from the dead and tour

and possibly many more...

I'm with Jarre in his Zimbawe mega-concert,miming Oxygene...I'm helping out in the background with some keyboard lines...then I suddenly get sick of miming for nothing,go and push Jarre aside and do some electronic magic unplugged...

The only one I remember is Robert Fripp playing a show in my church with some other guy who I didn't recognize, but his voice sounded like John Wetton. The only song I got to hear them play was a really cool semi-acoustic version of Easy Money.

My dad had a dream where he was backstage at an arena and Elton John asked him to play keyboards for him. When my dad said he couldn't play keyboards, he was told that he just had to mime it because it was all played off a CD anyway.

Well, you don't really specify whether you are talking about real dreams we have had or something we wish would happen in a perfect world. Both have been answered so far. For me, I remember having very detailed dreams involving events going with Oldfield's Tubular Bells looong ago.

I think It's strangely significant that Fripp seems to be the one of all the prog pantheon of gods that appears in members' dreams. How is it significant? Well, let me mull that over....

I know this has been probably brought up before but does anyone else agree that it would be AMAZINGLY AWESOME if they finally made a movie out of the most awesomely weird and screwed-up Lamb Lies Down On Broadway??? It would be the best- beyond The Wall!!

(I know I'm late in saying this- I just finally got around to listening to the whole damn album and reading the full story of Raels adventures/ spiritual jorneys. The Shaving of the Hairless Heart, making love to the Lamia, saving himself from the River, The sheet-thing that comes out of the sky...THINK about it!

That'd definitely be my prog dream of dreams at this moment.

50 tonne angel falls to the earth...

I recently had a dream where I was hanging out at the mall with 2 or 3 of my friends when I saw some guy sticking posters evrywhere on the walls. The posters were announcing a big Rush concert coming in my hometown Repentigny. I was pretty happy about it and I met Alex Lifeson who gave me 2 free tickets. That was cool!

That dream is very weird IMO because I'm not really a Rush fan.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

I had a dream David Gilmour was playing nearby. So naturally I go and get tickets real close to the venue. he sees me and asks me to come on stage and play guitar with him.

I had the exact same dream, only with them coming to the back door of my old house and playing on the porch. I remember there was a fence that looked like cardboard pasted together beind them and the sky was grey.

Syd Barrett and I became best friends somehow. He is his age when he was in Floyd and I am my regular age, and we both drop some acid and have one hell of a night!

The trip was actually in the dream to, I hope real acid, (I've never tried it ), is really like it was in the dream because that stuff was absolutely crazy.

What's cool is I had the dream when I was really anxious about tripping, but now I have decided not to, grass will do just fine.

We got to pump the stuff to make us tough
from the heart
Its astart
What we need is awareness we cant get careless
Mental self defensive fitness
Make everybody see in order to fight the powers that be
