I recently bought Adagio's newest album "Dominate". I was expecting more of a Sanctus Ignis/ Underworld sounding album, but i was wrong. The songs were nowhere near any of those. I was a bit dissapointed. The album was a lot power metal sounding with its share of growls and shrieks (correct me on this if im wrong) I havent finished listening to it yet, but im certain that i wont be enjoying this album as much as i enjoyed the previous 2.

Just my comments..

Any kind reactions?

I think that the album hasn't been released yet in Europe/America.

Well, I actually listened to it (internet is a wonderful thing), and I was indeed flabbergasted at the sound.
Songs like Seven Lands of Sin, Second Sight & From My Sleep ... To Someone Else were absolutely amazing in my eyes, and not a real copy of any music I know.
And know it's just plain old power metal. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but if I want to listen to power metal I'll buy a cd from a powermetal band, and that's not the genre in which I had put Adagio.... It's a shame in my eyes.

Maybe it has something to do with that new singer? They switched singer if I remember correctly....

Focus on the music... Focus!

^ Adagio are a (Prog) Power Metal band. I'm anxious to hear their new album ... and I won't mind if it's not as progressive as Underworld. I also liked Wallstreet Voodoo ...

I'd put the emphasis more on Prog than on Power considering after listening to Sanctus Ignis & Underworld. That isn't the case anymore... not by a long shot.

I like Underworld very much ... but I always considered it to be a Power Metal album, pretty much on the same level as Symphony X.

True for me. Symphony X's music got  me into Adagio's.

growling vocals were an interesting direction, and as mentioned this album has a more raw power/speed metal type of sound than the other two

i don't think it's bad though, to each his own :)
