I got this from their official website:

"Next Magyar Posse album 'Random Avenger' will be out in April / May this year."

I don't know if there are any fans of this band here, but I'm pretty thrilled.

I am a fan, Toni. I am pretty excited as well.

It says in their site that there will be samples soon. Excellent.

This is the best news in the post-rock scene since post-rock began with Tortoise.

Well, that is Magyar alright. Good track, I like it.

IMO it would fit better as a middle track in the album and not the opening track.

Eagerly awaiting to hear the whole album.

Yeah, sounded pretty good, indeed.

Assaf, I'm not sure what is Magyar Posse supposed to mean, Magyar refers to Hungary somehow, if I'm not mistaken, and posse is basically a "group" of people ...

Yes, I like Magyar Posse very much. I just wonder where the name comes from. Is there any other topics about Magyar Posse going on? I couldn't find one. Does somebody know a Finnish band called Circle? It's krautrock and they have been around since 80's. I think. Anyway they have played on same gigs as Magyar Posse and their music is pretty much like post-rock. Well, their latest album sounded like Judas Priest gone to kraut but older albums... Someone could maybe introduce it here as krautrock/post-rock band. This is absolutely a wrong topic to write about it, but here it is. Maybe I'll start a new topic some day. Godspeed You!!!  Oh, I almost forgot (and did). Someone should also introduce The Moonfogprophet / Kuusumun Profeetta to others here. That's a weird band. Kraut or zeuhl or I don't know... good band.

Yes, i know them all! First, the origin of the name Magyar Posse: nothing spectacular here, i think keyboardplayer Pasi picked it from a bottle of cheap hungarian wine called Magyar, and is available in every "alco" (booze-store) in Finland.
The Posse will probably tour France and maybe Holland again this summer!

About Circle; Hell Yeah! definately a great band! one of my personal favorites at the moment. They have been aroud quite some time (late 80's-early 90's), and have released a huge pile of records, of which the older ones are hard to get items now. Most of them were released by obscure labels like Bad Vugum, Ektro etc. Also, some main characters of Circle, namely Jussi Lehtisalo and Mika Ratto (Mika also playes in Kuusumun P.) and Timmi Leppanen (also in synthy cheese-pop ensemble Aavikko) are involved in other bands/projects like Ratto Ja Lehtisalo, Pharaoh Overlord, Lee Miller, mostly strange and droney music.

About Kuusumun Profeetta; I had the luck of seeing them once when i was in finland in winter 2004. I drove with them from Pori all the way up to Oulu for their gig in a very nice club called Special 45. Had a great time there.
There  we also met Jyrki Raatikainen, drummer of Oulu-based noise-rock band Radiopuhelimet.(Anyone know that excellent (and very old) band?

well, gotta get back to work,

My wife explained it to me.
Magyar is the Hungarian language name in Hungarian. It is also a Hungarish ethnic tribe.

I bought Random Avenger few days ago. It's not as good as Kings of Time but still a fantastic album! Absolutely a masterpiece. Clap

Highly recommended!
