  • Geddy Lee
  • Jon Anderson
  • Fish
  • James LaBrie (whether or not you like it, you'll instantly recognise what you love or loathe)
  • Maynard (also an unnervingly unique voice)
  • Roine Stolt (again, unmistakable, regardless of how much subjectivity submits to)

This is why you should let Robin save the day...

        Brian May

        Steve Howe

        Ringo Starr

But seriously, Chriss Squire voice is so different of anything I've heard, and the way he uses it wrapping Jon Anderson's cristal clear voice is remarkable!

Listen "Fish out of Water", Squire's solo album and tell me what you think.  Jon is more than extraordinary (is "more than extraordinary" grammatically correct?)  but Chriss is really something.

Edited by Tormato
I like Tormato, so shoot me! Every person in the world can't think the same.

Jorn Lande (Ark)
Daniel Heiman (Lost Horizon)

Jorn is unique because no one has a voice like him, but Daniel is unique because no one could ever sing his songs.   I think he's quite possibly the greatest male "range singer" that the Earth will ever see.

David Surkamp. i didn't think it was possible for a guy to sing like that.

Mr. Dr also has a unique style as opposed to a unique voice.

They who know do not speak!
They who talk do not know!

I would say that Brett Kull is really unique due to the fact that he only sounds the same in 1/2 his songs, it seems like his voice just changes in pitch.

If the criteria is that no one else sounds like insert your choice here, then Ian Anderson is as unique as anyone mentioned so far.

Don't forget the ladies!  How 'bout Annie Haslam?

Geddy Lee
Peter Gabriel
Everyone from Gentle Giant
Ian Anderson
Daniel Gildenlow
Mark Hollis
Alberto Piras
Francesco DiGiacomo
James Labrie

Bjork (although she might be bordering on the avant-pop...label(s)...sigh)
Mike Patton
Gavin Hayes
Greg Lake
Frank Zappa
Deborah Perry
Jarboe (see Bjork)
Thom Yorke
Kate Bush
Toby Driver
Doug Pinnick
Robert Plant

Sound like more English abuse: another unique..............................???

Why? "Unique" means "there is nothing or no-one like him/her/it". But that doesn't mean that only one person or thing can be unique. It only means nothing or no-one can be like that person or thing. So "another unique one" is perfectly correct.

The lead car is absolutely unique, except for the one behind it which is identical (Murray Walker - Formula one commentator.)

Your example is something else, because in your case the so-called "unique" cars are not unique by definition. But there could be more than one unique car in the race, as long as no two of them are alike.
