Of course I know the lyrics for "Blinded by the Light" really say "Wrapped up like a deuce", but  I USED TO think it was "douche." Or maybe knowing Bruce Springsteen wrote it, it sounds like something he would write. Anyway, in my opinion, what I thought it said sounds better and I think to this day, most people probably think it does say "douche."

Anyway, your favorite misunderstood lyrics ? Prog or non prog.

Fire up the flux capacitor ! We're taking this Delorean through all four dimensions.

What is the future of prog ? Genesis reunion ? I'm not telling! That could upset the thyme/space continuum.

My favorite one is from  Judas Priest - Living After Midnight.  The lyrics are really "I'm gonna floor you" but I thought he said "I'm gonna blow you".

Jim Croce - Lovers cross.

For over 30 years I thought he sang: "Cause now it seems that you wanted a mother, just a regular guy wouldn't do - but baby I can't hang upon no lover's cross for you".

In fact he sings martyr, not mother....

It didn't take a premonition to know he was gay. Many people figured that one out a long time ago.

Isn't it "REVVED up like a deuce"?  Maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway, I always thought the rest of the line was "a RUMOUR in the night".

I love collecting misheard lyrics.

"Blinded by the light,
revved up like a deuce,
another runner in the night"

Deuce -- a "deuce coupe," as sung about by the Beachboys:

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'

I always thought that line "Johnny wants to suck on a Coke" from David Bowie's "I'm Afraid of Americans" was actually something completely different, but apparently I was incorrect...

I originally thought the lyric "My eyes dilate" was "My ass dilates".

Way back, I was sitting in a bar with a couple of friends and a song came on that sounded like it said "I'm too sexy for my cat." Joke was on us, that was the real lyrics.

"they locked up a man who wanted to rule the world.
the fools
they locked up the wrong man."

I've had Fragile for around 30 years and only just found out this year that the lyrics to "We have heaven" were "Tell the moon don't tell the march hare", I though he said "marcher".

I've thought that until about 2 seconds ago when I read your post!

Rush - Tom Sawyer

Misheard: Living in the Fish Islands...

Correct: Living in a fish-eye lens..

"Limelight", dude.

I have a couple of mishearings from the same song, actually.

"The underlying theme" heard as "Beyond the light of dream", and

"A long-awaited friend" heard as "Along the weighted frame" (whatever the hell THAT means.....)
