Well, to say I am new to prog really isn't true.  I have listend to prog for years; bands like Tool, Rush, Yes, ELP, King Crimson.  I just didn't really know it was prog.  I have just recently, as in the past few weeks, started getting into prog, bu whoch I mean researching it and understanding it.  I am really sick of the generic crap and I am really looking forward to new discoveries.

My favorite band is Tool.  When I decided to listen to the Mars Volta's De-loused in the Comatarium a few weeks ago, it really sparked my interest in the genre. Bands I like, and I mean all bands, not just prog are;

Tool
Pantera
Mudvayne
Pink Floyd
Rage Against the Machine
System of a Down
Mars Volta
Coheed and Cambria
Matisyahu
Yes
ELP
King Crimson
Genesis
Metallica

That is the immediates that come to mind, trust me, there is way way more.  I have just gotten into Cohhed and Cambria, and really dig them, and to me thier new album is definatly prog.  Another band up there I would consider to be prog, and I know most if not all are going to disagree, is Mudvayne.  They sound like no one else, are great musicians, and put a lot of thought into thier music.

Well, that is just a little about me.

I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress . . .
