If you think that list is bad, imagine what the Rolling Stone's version would be like.

Too Old to Rock'nRoll is there, but not Thick as a Brick, A Passion Play, or Aqualung?
I must say that I am impressed that bands like Gong, Camel, and Gentle Giant are on the list.

All those belittling American Idiot... have you actually listened to the album? Really listened?
I think Genesis (their prog period) is the best band of all time, I
love TLDDOB (although there are at least 3 Genesis albums that I rate
higher), but I actually also rate American Idiot higher than TLLDOB...

Another case of people getting all worked up over a silly list.
I am not a fan of Green Day but my daughter worships them and I hear them a lot in my house.
I think they ought to be given a little bit of credit for trying something different.

I think American Idiot's one of the best albums to come out over the last three or four years, myself ... I didn't like the title track at first (still one of the lesser track, IMO) ... and I'm certain that many are judging the album on this track and not, for example the two 9 minute, multi-part story songs ... I certainly prefer it to the Coheed And Cambria and Dream Theatre albums that have been mentioned in this thread ...

why does anyone care about what some list in some magazine says
it's about as valuable as my top 50 list
honestly, are rock magazines even necessary anymore, i dont think so

First of all top 10/25/50/100 etc. lists make no sense.
Secondly, Teraz Rock is an all-inclusive magazine like Metal Hammer, therefore it has no profile, therefore there's really no sense reading it, therefore there's no sense discussing it.

Ok, they deserve some recognition for trying something that i didn't think they could do, and they did it, it's not that every rock band can make a concept album in an acceptable level, but should they have more recognition than the lamb?,
BTW, i also don't agree with the wall and tommy being the first and second, i think there so much better concept albums out there (but it is just my taste), and there's no thick as a brick?, i think it is better than all the albums from the list
i did listen to american idiot, and well, they make a good effort, but for example it is incomparable with snow or even to misplaced childhood or SFAJT ( despite of disliking marillion).

Most of my friends who like Greenday skip over the long tracks and play American Idiot ad infinitum...

Green Day sucks.

My avatar is the vocalist of glam rock/brit pop band Suede (aka the London Suede in USA). They were once good before the guitarist left the band. Albums to hear: self titled debut and 'Dog Man Star.'

I have heard parts of it, and it sounds the same as every other Greenday album: 4 or 6 power chords repeated over and over again with "rebellious" lyrics. Woah, you're anti-American--it takes true courage to restate what everyone else in the music industry already thinks. The same thing applies to The Rolling Stones; they've managed to appear rebellious all the time, when in fact they're always just going with the flow of the rest of Hollywood. Wow, an album about sex (Sticky Fingers) in the '70s--now that's original.
I didn't even know American Idiot was a concept album...

And you expected... what? It sounds like you people are complaining for the sake of complaining. Sure, The Lamb is better than American Idiot but this is the way the press is and we've known that for years, so don't pretend to be angry. (And besides, at least they mentioned bands like Gentle Giant, Peter Hammill, and Gong at all)

It's just a stupid magazine put together by some monkey-brained writers- does it really matter what their list says? Although, I must say I don't agree with Green Day at #3 at all. Quite ridiculous.
