So I has just completed my K.C. collection from In The Court up to Red.

So I am now asking you, what else should I add to my K.C. collection. I already know Discipline, but other than that, what have you all enjoyed of theirs from after the 1970's.

Also name you favorite line-up, Album, and what ever else you want.

I say go with the 80s stuff, and The Power To Believe. Tho its really hard to find anything bad by them. You really can't go wrong whereever you go.

Pretty much every era of Crimson is awesome. My favorite era is a tie between the Wetton/Bruford era and the Belew/Levin era. Go with everything past Red is my recommendation.

I concur, but THRAK is overrated.

I don't know Power To Believe, but I have all the others ... and the other day I was looking at my KC collection, and I remember thinking "wish I'd stopped at Red" ... a controversial view I know

Sorry to be discouraging ... but I do believe that my favourite KC albums are that run from In The Court to Red ... and that the following albums aren't to my taste ...

In fact, I actually prefer The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp to the 80s and 90s stuff ... If you like 60s psych then definitely check that one out

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”

"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present."

I don't think thrak is overrated... Power to belive is excellent, you can also check for the DVD Neal Jack and Me if you like the 80' period, Deja Vroom, for the Thrak Tour and Eyes Wild open for the Power to belive tour and construction of light tour. All the dvds are EXCELLENT and highly recommended

The Power To Beleive is excellent, but I must warn you, it's a far cry from the King Crimson of the 70's.

^ Exactly how I feel. After RED , Fripp was more concerned with the sound rather than the song. I can't listen to anything post-RED!

Definitely explore the 80's and 90's output, but I'd recommend skipping Beat. It's just not a very strong album, IMO.
