Itīs hard to believe that a band that hasnīt released an album in over ten years has sold out shows in New York. All four shows in New York were sold out in record time. I think the shows are in May.
I must say I am curious to hear what they sound like but I wonīt buy the album when it comes out.
What are your thoughts on this big comeback?

They're also coming to Finland and I have to say I was a bit surprised when I heard that the tickets were sold out in half an hour. Guns n' Roses have made some good music, but I wouldn't have thought that they're still taken seriously.

Yes their sudden lurch back into life has been the biggest shock of the rock world lately. Never was a huge fan in any case- I only like 'Appetite' which had some excellent songs and was a consistent album throughout. The rest of it is poor, imo- scrappy affairs weighed down by bombastic or plain offensive filler.

I wouldn't be surprised if GNR cancel all these concerts. They have been recording the next album during ten years now, and it never gets to be released. That's because Axl has gone completely mad and he's never happy with the recordings. Many people think that the album will never see the light, and without it I don't think that they will do a world tour.

Apparently they played in NY last night. The band now have three guitarists.
Does anyone have any info on the show or did anyone here go?
Iīm curious how it went down.

Guns'n'Roses without Slash is worthless IMO. Axl's attempts to make an album (since 1994Confused) are ridiculous. And again from what I've read he's been busy sueing former GNR members for various reasons...

and are the fans ever in for a deception!

Everyone that saw them in the Grasspop festival last June in Belgium said they stunk. And will never Axl again.

He played his prince role and finally deigned to grace the staga after having the fans wait for over 90 mins and put in a short set.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
