Two Hamadryad's albums are very different from each other.

First one - Conservartion of Mass - is my favourite, - brilliant symphonic prog with very good vocalist (rarity nowadays). His high pitch is reminding Jon Anderson at times. Music is quite original, musicianship is superb, their leader on bass is awesome, and all in all albums is close to masterpice - my rating is 9 out of 10. And have to disagree with Dick Heath above - I cannot hear any neo in it.

Second one - Safe in Conformity is weaker. First of all their singer is not there anymore, and all vocals are held by bassist and leader of the band Jean-Francois Desilets. He tries to sing like Gabriel, but fails due to simple lack of vocal capabilities.
Music is still not bad and getting much better in instrumental parts. My rating 7 out of 10 - still very much worth checking this out.

French TV - I am going to purchase the whole discography of this band in a course of this year with "Pardon our French" arriving in two weeks time. So far I've hear one full track and few samples, and got extremely curious, hence my decision to get the whole lot of their works.

Hamadryad have two pretty good albums out on Unicorn Records- start with the first, neo.prog/symp with some excellent harmony singing and superior music compared with many of their competitors.

Kennedy's late 80's Live recording is fun (Musea Records), especially there heavy rock and sometime out of control attack of Mahavishnu's Birds Of Fire.

I only know French TV, their Pardon Our French album. It was fairly good avant-prog, but nothing exceptional IMO. Worthy of investigation though, if you're a fan of the sub-genre.

During a recent sweep of Greg Walker's Syn-phonic website, I came across a few bands that have tweaked my attention, namely:
  • Zen Rock & Roll (USA)
  • Jasun Martz (USA)
  • The Kaplan Brothers (USA)
  • French TV (USA)
  • Kennedy (Japan)

Apart from the info here on the Prog Archives site, does anyone have any personal recommendations or information regarding any of these guys?
