Dream Theater SCORE - coming August 29th!

Added on 06-10-2006
Dream Theater's latest live CD and DVD "SCORE" is currently scheduled for release on Aug 29th 2006 on Rhino Records. (date may vary slightly in different countries)

The 3-CD and 2-DVD sets will be available seperately.

Both versions will contain the entire "20th Anniversary World Tour" grand finale recorded live at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 1st 2006. (nearly 3 hours of music - over 90 minutes of which was performed with a full orchestra)

The DVD will also contain a 1 hour Documentary tracking the entire career of the band from the very beginnings at the Berklee College Of Music in 1985 all the way to the Radio City Music Hall grand finale. Including rare never before seen footage and interviews with current and previous members of the band.

Also included on the DVD are several live Bonus Tracks from through the years taken from the Portnoy Archives.

Sweet! I cannot wait for this!
I'm going to venture a guess about the 3-Disc set-list division:
Disc 1 - The whole first set, at about 50 minutes
Disc 2 - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (complete), plus Vacant and The Answer Lies Within, at about 50 minutes as well
Disc 3 - The Epics! Sacrificed Sons, Octavarium and Metropolis Pt. 1! This will probably clock in at about 50 minutes as well

Each disc at about 50-55 minutes, which is what they did with the Budokan show. I'm really excited about this! Between Rush Replay X3 (start of summer) and this (end of summer), this is going to be a good summer!

I'd say it's probably more like Disc 1 - the first set from the RCMH show, Disc 2 - the 2nd set, with orchestra, and Disc 3 - the special features (documentary, pictures, bonus live footage, etc.)

Uhm, the 3-Disc set is the Audio-CD version of the show. The DVD Concert Video is only 2 discs.

Nice! Great Quality.
The orchestra sounds incredible. I was at the show, and the orchestra was very well done in the mix, so I'm glad they cleaned it up for the DvD.
I'm so pumped
I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

Hahaha... Yeah, I was at the show as well "I allmost cried when I knew they were gonna do Six Degrees all the way through"... I kinda had a hunch about it a few weeks before the show though. The best show all year so far for me.

I'll admit, when the orchestra started playing overture, and I realized I was going to hear a song I thought I would never hear live, with an orchestra, and for probably the last time ever I was aboot ready to cry. Definatly an amazing experience, as was the entire show.

"Score" refers to two things, as far as I know - score is an old way of saying 20 years (think Lincoln's Gettysburg Address...); and it also refers to a conductor's musical score which shows all the parts of an musical composition for an orchestra/band.
