...I really dig that tune and would be glad to get some recommendations of similar stuff :-)

~ long tracks (not a must!)
~ harmonic
~ virtuously played instruments
~ lots of variations of tempo or harmony
~ and not too neo-proggy ;)
good morning starshine how are you?

Some of the quite obvious and not so obvious:

Cressida - Munich and Let Them Come When They Will
PFM - Dove Quando I & II
King Crimson -Starless
Banco - Metamorfosi
Novalis  - Aufbruch
Caravan - Can't be long Now/Francoise/For Richard...
Curved Air - Piece of Mind and Metamorphosis
Le Orme - Maggio and Sospesi Nell'Incredible
Alphataurus - La Mente Vola
Gentle Giant - Schooldays
Pure Reason Revolution - The Bright Ambassadors of Morning
Anekdoten - Hole
VdGG - Emperor in his War-Room or Pilgrims? (not sure if they belong here, but great not extreme melodic yet complex tracks)

More Camel? More Italianprog, Pink Floyd and Genesis?
Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

Oh Steve Hackett - Shadow of the Hierophant
Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

Nice oneThumbs Up  (the song is from Voyage of the Acolyte)

Also try other Camel albums, in particular Moonmadness. This might sound strange but The Liquid Tension Experiment has the same rock fusion feel to it.

Camel's "Rain Dances" also has quite a lot of great instrumental tracks, though shorter than "Lady Fantasy". If you want something longer, on the band's debut, self-titled album's remastered edition there is a bonus track called "Homage to the God of Light" (originally a Peter Bardens solo effort), which is 19 minutes long and reminds me at times of Santana's best '70s output.

Since I first heard  Focus I immedeatly draw a resemblance between them and Camel because of the melodic prog they play with flute piano and all. Highly recommended for Camel fans Thumbs Up

I strongly recommend  2 amazing tracks by Helloween (written with "e"):
-Keeper of the seven keys
-Halloween (written with "a")
Some people would describe it as kitsch (because of the lyrics :"Guided by spells of the old seer's hand/You're suffering pain only steel can stand" and catchy major melodies)  but they are dumb.

Perhaps the more melodic Transatlantic epics (All Of The Above, Duel With The Devil, Stranger In Your Soul)?
