Terry Jacks and Bobby Goldsboro - two of the greatest songs about Death ever recordedLOL. I'm not sure which of "Seasons" or "Honey" is the most depressing. There is a hilarious book called I Hate Myself And I Want To Die by Tom Reynolds which has sections about both these songs.

I voted for Babs. She has to be one of the most annoying prople on the face of the earth. Her nose, her music, her acting. She is the epitome of everything I hate about  mainstream American pop culture entertainment.  Whenever she decides she wants to do a show or show her nose in public once every 20 years the media bow down to her like she's some sort of goddess. Ugh......................

Terry Jacks? Isn't that a Blur song?

Partridge Family of the ones I have heard. After all, The Jackson Five have Can You Feel it?, which is a great little song.

My my...some of the worst bands/artists of all time here imo...One of the hardest polls I've ever voted in. I'd say the Jackson Five and The Osmonds lead the pack though- The Osmonds lead (just) due to the sheer nausea of 'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' and 'Puppy Love'.Dead

As for 'Seasons In The Sun', I believe it was a Jacques Brel song. In the hands of Scott Walker it would have been utterly sublime, imo, but Terry Jacks reduced it to an atrocity with a curiously jolly arrangement. Westlife showed even less care for the song's sentiments with their shockingly poor version (another act that could easily have been here) that was even poorer than Jacks'. And 'Honey'...yuck. One of the most cringe-inducing songs ever recorded that drips with bathos and sentimentality.

I would have to say the osmonds, I would have said Terry Jacks but the great Link Wray played the riff on "Seasons in the Sun" so that puts him above. Barbara Streisand and Glen Campbell I think were (are) great contributions to their respective genres and have allot of talent. The others listed are typical boardroom generic radio pop like the osmonds.

Surely the Osmonds are more annoying than The Jackson Five. The Jackson Five made some pretty good music for pop, I think.

You can take ALL of those bands, roll them up into a ball, put them in a big brown paper bag, sail them 'round all the seven oceans and drop them, smack dab in the middle of the deep blue sea.Thumbs Down

Here I'm shadowed by a dragon fig tree's fan
ringed by ants and musing over man.

Sometimes when I'm oblyed (for political reasons) to go to events where contemporary pop music is theomnipresent music I fI truly miss the trash of the seventies like all the disco stuff and even cr*p like the carpenters. Man, if any of you could know what is Rio (the town) Funk you would be grate to live in the hip-cr*p world.
Bach, Ma, Bros, Déia, Dante.

The Osmonds made "Crazy Horses" and happen to love that song!

The Jackons are pretty chronic.

I'm only familiar with Glenn "Fernando" Campbell from the bands Misunderstood and Juicy Lucy...

You forgot Sonny & Cher and Dolly Parton!

I've only heard music by The Jackson 5, and their maddening.

I do like the cover of Barbara Streisand's "Butterfly" LP

all of the above????Big smile
let's just stay above the moral melee

keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
