My favourite switches between Foxtrot and Selling England by the Pound. At the moment it's Foxtrot.

Nursery Cryme. My first, and and still my favorite.
Over land and under ashes
In the sunlight, see - it flashes
Find a fly and eat his eye
But don't believe in me
Don't believe in me
Don't believe in me

SEbtP wins hands down for me. I've never been able to really get into Foxtrot.

I went for Nursery Cryme, but all are superb (except for the perfectible Lamb and W&W albums)

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Depends on the day of the week....but if I had to:

1.  Foxtrot/SEBTP....would take too long of me staring into the screen to decide.
2.  Nursery Cryme
3.  The Lamb...
4.  Wind...
5.  Tresspass
6.  Trick...
I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....

It's a shame that The Lamb has one vote.
Actually probably Foxtrot is my fave, I support now the double album.
This ambitious and truly exciting and original concept piece deserves much more than one vote!

For me it's pretty much a tie between 'SEBTP' and 'Trick..' Both are very representative of Genesis as a premier league prog rock band, but are from the two different eras.

Trick only has the edge, IMO because of the more mature musicianship and superior production. Very close behind these two albums would be 'Foxtrot' then 'WAW'

My favourite Genesis album of all time is actually 'The Lamb..' I didn't vote for this as I dont feel it really represents the band as they were on both previous or later albums.

Tough choice... I'll say The Lamb, because It's the last Gabriel-era album I discovered (and it really blew me away) and I think it needs more recognition than it's usually given.
Nursery Cryme, however, was THE album that made me a prog-addict in 1980, so it always deserves a special mention when it comes to choosing a Genesis favourite.

I can't cast my vote, because all of the early Genesis is brilliant. Wind and Wuthering is probably the weakest since Peter was long gone and Steve was about to depart, and  Trespass and Nursery Cryme are only weak because of the lower recording quality. The music though is beyond outstanding. Your poll is spot on too because all of the albums after Wind and Wuthering are an embarrassment, at least in my mind. STILL PRAY FOR THE REUNION!
