Can't vote because I have never come across Brainticket before, but I've been reading some reviews and they look promising so I think I'll check them out.
Is the PA sample mp3 (Brain Ticket Part 1 from 1971) at all typical?

I've just heard brainticket. Hawkwind has all the making to be called space rock, lyrics, tape effects, heavy riffs, cover art, etc. Brainticket is psychedelia in the broadest sense. If the poll was which band is more LSD I'd pick brainticket.

Psychonauts is a gem, but Space Ritual is a force to be reckoned with. I don't know. This polls are getting harder by the day.
I'll probably vote for Brainticket since most of the people here will vote for Hawkwind.

Agreed.
Hawkwind have done some really good Space-Rock - and some rather forgettable stuff, too.

Most of the "Brainticket" album's lyrics sound like a lass having a psychotic episode, imo. I'll listen to it or to CWH very very occasionally, but that's about it... Not that I listen to Hawkwind all that often, these days. I don't think much of the newer stuff, and there's only so many times that one can listen to Space Ritual
