Is anybody here game for rattling off the names of some Prog labels currently releasing records?
Sage assessments of distribution effectivity would also be welcomed. Thanks. SM. |

Inside Out Music, I believe, is a current prog rock label. They've released albums by Spock's Beard, The Flower Kings, Neal Morse, Angra, and Happy The Man(among others.)

The Anglophile Cuneiform Records is for the adventurous prog fan
- they also handle ReR label the present home of Henry Cow and related.
Laser's Edge for bands like A Triggering Myth, McGill Manring & Stevens, and CD reissues of some excellent neglected albums (e.g. Island). The French label and distributor: Musea is huge and have a greater spread of acts than SPV/Inside Out. The same possibly can be said of the Italian label Mellow. British label Cyclops has its moments, e.g the US band Finneus Gauge. Ditto UK labels Voiceprint/Blueprint (but like some of the plumbing in some the the UK older hotels, doesn't wok on occasions), and Burning shed which handles independent artists (although Hugh Hopper and Steve Wilson are associated with it) Edited by Dick Heath - July 24 2006 at 09:19 |

It does look like Inside Out is way up front. I have a Proto-Kaw disc and the insert that comes with it has the following bands on it:
Proto-Kaw, Spock's Beard, Ayreon, The Flower Kings, Roine Stolt, O.S.I., POS, Pallas, Magellan, Star One, Symphony X, Steve Howe, Hackett, Neal MOrse, Ryo Okumoto, Tiles, Transatlantic, and Vanden Plas. Pretty extensive, and I've left others off this list and just hit the high notes so to speak. |
