Very sad news. Big fan myself. I saw him live a couple of years ago. He
was in top form and looked very happy. Fantastic concert. He played
Forever Changes in full, and for a full house.
I'm so grateful that his great music got rediscovered, and that he was able to tour the whole world for a couple of years. Psychedelias two greatest eccentrics and artists have now passed away within a couple of weeks. |

Sad news indeed - I was listening to Forever Changes a couple of days ago and marvelling at how fresh a lot of the songs still sound. A true wayward talent.

- very sad news, and a bit of a shock too. I'd heard he was unwell lately but didn't realise how bad it was. That's two wonderfully talented mavericks we've lost in the space of a few weeks- Syd and now Arthur Lee...Rest in peace.

Love was one of the truly great and original bands to come out of the 60's. Unfortunately they didn't have the commercial success they truly deserved due to the fact they rarely preformed outsite of L.A. until after their prime. My father and my uncle who grew up in the 60's had never even heard of them until I put on 'Forever Changes' one sunny summer afternoon. They liked it, but though it was some new band. How shocked they were to find out that this was a band from their time. Arthur Lee, like Syd Barret who died just a month ago, was a true original and visionary. A truly sad loss. RIP Arthur

Shocking and sad news about Arthur. An extremly talented and influential musician. Jim Morrisons biggest inspiration. Da Capo and Forever Changes are albums so very much over looked or underated. Powerful works that remain as compelling and fresh today as they did upon release. Rest well Arthur, and thank you.

Sad news indeed. I discovered the band Love thanks to this forum and I support the general agreement on 'forever changes' as being a true masterpiece !
