Roger Trigaux(of Present fame)  is organizing for next summer a RIO festival.

Sounds like the perfect place for yet another PA meeting!!!

Sounds good to me! It's pretty much my dream line up, so I'll definitely book the time off and get tickets asap.

Wow, Present, Guapo, Magma, Nebelnest, Faust, Peter Blegvad, Zao... This will be one excellent show, I think.
The problem is that it is too far away for me to tell if I can go.
Will know more as 2007 approaches.

Message and anwer from Dave Kerman (drmmer of Present) to Roger Trigaux 5present master and master of ceremony in Carmaux, next spring):

I wrote to both Michel and Roger, explaining that
some people from N. America were interested in making
the trip. I asked how these people could be assured
tickets.

Their reply was:

Hello Dave ! (Dave Hello)
Tickets will be on line in a few days, they will can buy it directly through the RIO site (in english). I send your mail to Roger for more security.
Roger, can you answer to Dave ?
Price is 60 euros + location tax (between 2 and 4 euros more) for three days.
Welcome in Carmaux.
Michel

I wrote back, requesting (in more certain terms) that
25-30 tickets be reserved for N. Americans. I'll post
their reply as soon as any word comes in. Dave

Thanks for the info Sean, There will also be at-least 2 Australians making the trip! It'll be a once in a lifetime event for me...

By the way, what's this I hear of Koenjihyakkei getting involved?

How about us Brits, Sean?

I hope I can somehow get there, but I cannot hold any promises.  I'd love to go though!  This is the sort of show we need in the UK and as France is just across the pond, this is an idea.  All I need is someone to go with, some kind of way of getting there and I'm sorted.

Not sure if I'll have my car by then, but I should have.  However, I've never driven abroad before and it could be a bit daunting.

Hugues, you're familiar with travelling to the UK by Train, so is it a good idea to go to Paris on the Eurostar, then to Toulouse and then to Carmaux?

And if we're doing Hotels... I think we should all try and get in the same hotel, or as close as possible, for that ultimate prog experience!

I would love to go to this but I know for certain I shan't be able to afford it. All you lucky chaps who'll be there had better give me a detailed report on your return!

Ho hum.

Judging by their recently released third album "ZePTO", the NeBeLNeST performance in this RIO Festival should be epic.

Cheers to all those who will attend!

Oh, regardless of the festival of this thread, let me recommend you a great RIO album from a non-Freanch speaking country. Spanish quartet OCTOBER EQUUS has released their eponymous debut album earlier this year, and it's really great!! The oppressive dynamics of  Presenet, the challenging deconstructions of classic Henry Cow and the ultra-neurotic vibe of Wetton-era King Crimson are cleverly combined in their sound.

Check their entry in PA for further details.

  Kind regards.

Three avant fanatics from Spain are preparing the trip. I must say, if anyone attending the concert is interested in arranging some kind of progarchivers meeting and take a beer during a break, it would be very funny.

Martin (Alucard) and myself will be there, and I'll certainly be happy to meet any fellow forum members - pm me and we can fix something up.

positive Assaf, we met  in October last year in Canterbury and had some good time in the 'Blind Dog' as we will have this year (at least I hope so) in the 'Auberge Du Sanglier' doing the RIO on the traces of 'Caravan'Wink
