    I`m from slovakia and
I like hard rock most of all genres. BUt also heavy metal, alternative and progressive. There are some artists I like: Black Sabbath,Muse,Led Zeppelin,Pearl Jam,Iron Maiden,Ronnie James Dio,Velvet Revolver,CCR,Judas Priest,Radiohead,Joe Satriani,Pink Floyd,Opeth,Children of Bodom,Queen,Bob Dylan,Jethro tull,Yes,BLS,QOTSA,Deep Purple,Tool,Metallica,Lynyrd Skynyrd,Ozzy Osbourne, Porcupine tree.

At the beggining, I`m searching for a group which is based on hardrock guitar riffs like Black Sabbath, but which is more progressive. So you no any?

Welcome to the archives!

You might like these bands:

Iced Earth
Mastodon
Anathema
Dream Theater
Riverside
OSI
Alchemist
Dark Tranquillity
Pain of Salvation
Shadow Gallery
Symphony X
Arcturus

Those are some of my favorites. But like WaywardSon said, you can get a lot of help from this site just by reading reviews and listening to song samples in the Progressive Metal section.

OK. Thank you all for your answers. From what you mentioned I like also Anathema, an some Dream THeater songs but not more then one half of all their songs.

I consider prog archives as a very good site- I know it sinse Sunday and I already found two very good groups in there - Wishbone ash and Porcupine tree, which I didn`t know before.

OK, I willl, but I`m relatively new in progressive, so I need some time to Listen loads of progressive music, and I believe, I will find many very good prog. artists.

BTW: does anybody of you know our slovak group Collegium Musicum? They are supposed to play progressive music, and I found them in progarchives. I heard only one album by now, but I rate it very possitive.
