Obviously progressive Metal: Opeth, Tool, Ayreon, DT etc. All these bands have a broader title than just "progressive" though.
Thrash Metal comes second. It was the first kind of music that I discovered. I grew up with the likes of Metallica and Megadeth, and they still hold a special place in my heart.

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

Progressive Metal, the traditional kind.

I like some Power, Melodic Death, and I really love some Gothic.

Don't care for all too much else.

Progressive Metal is my favourite, but I have a soft spot for Melodic Death Metal à la In Flames aswell, and I can take a bit of Thrash or Doom every once in a while (not too often though).

No vote ... Progressive Metal would be my choice, but there are so many progressive bands in the other sub genre choices that it would be unfair to vote for Progressive Metal.Wink
