YES — Close to the Edge

Review by Legoman

3%20stars Seriously. I can't believe how overrated this album has become. The singer of YES isn't imparticularly talented, the lyrics were written somewhere between recess and lunch and the some of the sounds that are in it are completely obnoxious! I really don't understand how this is someone's favorite YES album and especially how it is THE BEST PROGRESSIVE ALBUM EVER!!1one It isn't. However, this is not to say that I don't like and respect it. I feel that it is good in it's own respect, maybe somewhere on the level of Discipline by King Crimson but certainly not the best.

In fact, I think all of BETO's reviews may be plagiarized, I just checked his review of Meddle and it's also taken from another reviewer here.

JETHRO TULL — Thick As A Brick

Review by gyroeatery

2%20stars It's good, but should've been an EP. Just not a whole album worth. Some of the parts are memorable. But many just repeat themselves (even the memorable one). Not sure what all the hype is about really. It's well produced, the instrumentation is good. The lyrics are all over the boards, but as a whole average. I'd figure it's the old breakdown of a good composition, but it's not even spectacular. Decidedly un-epic considering it's over 40 minutes long.

Must give credit though to the string part near the end. It validates the existence of the b-side.

This guy keeps talking about how amazing Far East Family Band are, but he is reviewing a Far Out album! Sure they eventually became Far East Family Band, but I don't think that this is an appropriate review anyways. Also, he doesn't mention any songs on the album he is reviewing, but makes a point to mention future albums by Far East Family Band.

5%20stars The best album of all times. Perfect melodies, guitar solos etc...

He says so much with so littleLOL

BTW, I have two reviews for DT's live album Score, and I can't get rid of one.

Certainly it counts as rating-without-review... Wink

For the case of double reviews for the same album, we're working on it. Thanks!

5%20stars terrible........Listen, here's what I think.........BIKO??? It's all GIBBERISH!.......And "And THROUGH THE WIRE" is a terrible attempt to get a radio hit. It sounds like he's crying that he left that band.....Who I an not fond of either........HOWEVER!!! It does have KATE BUSH on it!! Just for that, 5 stars!!

Can we incorporate some sort of engine into the ProgArchives script so every review with too much block capitals that aren't band names, to many "!!!!" and "......" could be automatically deleted? Ermm

I assume "that band" which he is not that fond of either is Genesis, so why has he given 3 of their albums 5 stars? (Kate Bush is not on any of them).

And Biko gibberish? It's one of the finest lyrics ever written ("You can blow out a candle but you can't blow out a fire").

4%20stars i LOVE the CHA CHA CHA section.....

And the rest of the album also.

Moraz is not Wakeman.

We hear a band adapting to new input by an amazing musician like Moraz.

I think this album is exciting because of that.

And NO it's not close to the edge because they already did that

not very impressive, is it?

Not that it matters, but I like it. Especially the end. Loads of hidden meanings in that one.

okay, I suppose. Wacko

MARILLION — Afraid of Sunlight
Review by doozie

5%20stars The best Marillion album ever but I hated it when I first heard it! It took a good 3 or 4 listens to realise the subtle genius of this album.

A must for anyone how likes music with integrity, warmth and feeling.

Well... 5 stars only because... It was given only a personal reading of the personal ideas that this album provokes.  But so how it was written...  This review isn't of no usefulness.  I wouldn't buy ever an album after to have read a like review!!!

MARILLION — Marbles
Review by doozie

5%20stars Excellent - even taking into account the ropey "The Damage", "Drilling Holes" and the "Marbles I - IV" pieces. Dump it to your iPod but skip those tracks and your left with one of the finest albums of all time.
